Master of Accountancy program joins elite group with STEM certification
The Master of Accountancy program has officially received the STEM Optional Practical Training certification, becoming just the second university program in the state and one of a limited number in the nation to hold the designation and be fully accredited by the AACSB International.
Virtual ceremony to recognize service, retiring employees
The university will recognize university employees for their service and commitment and honor retiring employees during a virtual ceremony at 9 a.m. Dec. 4. Anyone may watch the program live via a link on YouTube. Employees and retirees will receive their pins and certificates after the event.
SIU backgrounds for your virtual meetings

Reminders on payroll, W-2 forms
Human Resources-Payroll wants to remind employees who are responsible for entering or reporting time or sending paperwork, that December is a short month for running all of the necessary payrolls. In addition, all university employees are asked to review their mailing address via Human Resources Self-Service and make any necessary changes before Jan. 8, 2021.

SIU theater students use their pandemic experiences to create plays
While COVID-19 negated their ability to perform before live audiences this semester, SIU Carbondale theater students are refusing to stop the show. Nearly 50 students are creating a series of 10 short plays inspired by their own pandemic experiences and research for a performance via live stream on YouTube on Saturday.
SIU’s Rec Center offering members and students free FitBod access
The personal training program FitBod is coming to Student Recreational Sports and Services. All RSS members and SIU students can enjoy six months of free personal training through the app if they sign up now.
Virtual workshop available to help faculty, staff and students with stress
Sky@SIUC, a registered student organization, is hosting a virtual workshop to promote the mental well-being of faculty, staff and students during this time of social isolation and stress resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, political tensions and other things happening in the world, organizers said.
