Virtual ceremony will recognize 69 retired SIU Carbondale employees
CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois University Carbondale will recognize 69 retired employees for their service to the university in a virtual ceremony on Dec. 4.
The virtual event will take place at 9 a.m. Chancellor Austin A. Lane will introduce the program and the university’s vice chancellors and deans will announce the honorees from their respective areas via Zoom. Anyone may watch the program live via a link on YouTube. Retirees and service employees will receive their pins and certificates after the event.
The recognition is for university employees who retired between Aug. 1, 2019 and July 31, 2020.
The retirees had 1,397 years of combined experience with the university. Of these retirees, 26 had 20 to 29 years of service; nine employees had 30 to 34 years of service; one employee had 38 years of service and another employee retired with 45 years of service.
