|From the Chancellor|
As we begin this very unusual fall semester, we have been receiving a lot of questions from students, families, faculty and staff members, media representatives and others about safety measures, classes, housing, masks and much, much more.
SIU Today - August 12, 2020
Faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members from across the SIU System are invited to join a live virtual discussion on Aug. 25 that will focus on hate speech and the use of social media in higher education.
A guide to important, student-related policies, information and resources is online as a reference for all faculty, staff and students. You can access the "2020-2021 Guide to Important Information for SIU Carbondale Students, Faculty, and Staff” on the Office of the Dean of Students website.
The Office of Information Technology is completing work on single sign-on and the transition to a new sign-in process that makes network access easier for users.
The SIU Alumni Association is selling special-issue face masks through Aug. 30. Proceeds from the mask sales will go to benefit Association scholarships and programs supporting students.
A new digital accessibility website is providing faculty and staff with numerous resources, including a downloadable guide, so students and others have access to materials no matter their disability.
There is a change in venues for two Southern Illinois Music Festival concerts on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 15-16.
The fall 2020 semester may look a little different, but students will be able to enjoy a wide variety of welcome-to-campus activities – both in person and virtually – during Saluki Startup and Weeks of Welcome.
SIU Today to resume normal schedule
Beginning Monday, Aug. 17, SIU Today will plan to resume its usual newsletter schedule of Monday and Thursday for the fall semester.
