Digital accessibility website provides resources for faculty, staff
A new digital accessibility website is providing faculty and staff with numerous resources, including a downloadable guide, so students and others have access to materials no matter their disability.
In addition to the website and guide, the Center for Teaching Excellence and Disability Support Services are collaborating to present a virtual lesson at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 13. To join the Zoom meeting, click https://zoom.us/j/98049634313#success/. A Q&A session will follow.
The online session and website will help faculty and staff ensure that everyone has accessibility to website and course content – whether in print, online, video or audio format. Accessibility is essential to student learning and required by state and federal law.
The campus digital accessibility committee has been working to assist the campus community in making documents and media accessible with the goal of ensuring SIU is proactive in giving people access no matter their disabilities.
