Volunteers needed for various activities in welcoming students back to campus
Faculty and staff are invited to volunteer for numerous special activities planned for students as they return to kick off the fall 2019 semester that starts on Aug. 19.
SIU 150th anniversary apparel on sale through Monday
For a limited time, the SIU Alumni Association is hosting a pop-up online store with Silkworm for all university faculty and staff to purchase commemorative apparel for the upcoming school year. You will find nearly a dozen items on sale, from T-shirts to pullovers to dress shirts.
Game on: SIU’s new Esports Arena will open Aug.16
A new era of competition and gaming is coming to campus with the unveiling of the long anticipated Esports Arena. Set on the first floor of the Student Center, the 1,200 square foot facility will launch Aug. 16 with an open house and welcome.

Delaney elected president of SIU Foundation
David Delaney, a 1983 graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, has been elected to a two-year term as chairman of the SIU Foundation.
