Volunteers needed for various activities in welcoming students back to campus
Faculty and staff are invited to volunteer for numerous special activities planned for students as they return to kick off the fall 2019 semester that starts on Aug. 19.
New Student Programs is seeking volunteers to assist myriad activities, including Saluki Startup and “Weeks of Welcome” events.
Saluki Startup is Aug. 15 through Aug. 17 and includes move-in activities for new and returning students, “Light up the Lake” on Aug. 15 and the “Saluki Startup Kickoff” event on Aug. 16. Saluki Service Day is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Aug. 17 at Touch of Nature Environmental Center, followed by the annual “Dawgs Nite Out” at 8 p.m. to midnight at the Student Center. Volunteers may sign up online to help with Dawgs Nite Out.
In addition, volunteers are needed to assist with “Saluki Stop Shops,” the outdoor information tents around campus that assist students with any questions they may have.
We will have campus maps, Faner Hall maps, and additional resources available. Sign up to volunteer here and be sure to wear your Saluki maroon and nametag! As more opportunities become available, New Student Programs will continue to update this volunteer link.
