SIU Day at the Du Quoin State Fair is back for another year of fun and entertainment

Salukis across campus are gearing up for another exciting year of the Du Quoin State fair, beginning Aug. 23.

The action begins with the annual Twilight Parade to open the fair, starting at 6 p.m. Friday. The Marching Salukis, Saluki Shakers, Cheer Squad and Grey Dawg will all be participating, along with Chancellor John M. Dunn joining the festivities.

SIU/College Day is set for Labor Day, Sept. 2. The fair runs from 10 a.m. to midnight, and college students from any institution with a valid ID are admitted for free. All SIU faculty and staff with a valid ID also receive free admission.

New this year, parking is also free for those with an ID. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to have fun and wear maroon!
