University, Springfield police partner on project to reduce gun violence 

A three-year grant is allowing Tammy Kochel, Criminology and Criminal Justice, to work with the Springfield Police Department on a “focused deterrence” program.

Summer camps and conferences bring thousands of youths to campus

Thousands of young people from all over the country are visiting campus and Touch of Nature Environmental Center this summer to participate in dozens of academic, athletic, music, artistic and outdoor experiential camps.


Veteran Adventures sponsoring shooting clays trip for past and present military members 

A free clay target shooting event July 21 is being offered to all current military members, courtesy of Veteran Adventures, a program of Touch of Nature Environmental Center.
