Earth Month events at SIU

The university will celebrate Earth Month in April with a variety of special events that highlight the university’s long-standing commitment to sustainability. Due to the pandemic, student-related events will be the focus of many of the activities, but faculty and staff are invited to participate in several.


Vaccines available for Illinois residents age 16 and up

Beginning today, March 29, the Jackson County Health Department will accept vaccination appointments from any Illinois resident age 16 and older, regardless of health condition or occupation. COVID-19 vaccinations will be offered this week at Banterra Center and the Carbondale Civic Center. For more information about making an appointment, visit the health department website.


Conversation on mitigating intersectional discrimination is Tuesday

Faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members from across the SIU System are invited to join a live, virtual conversation on Tuesday, March 30, on intersectional discrimination and how the university community can mitigate this form of bias.


Diversity training virtual workshops for April start Thursday

The Office of Associate Chancellor for Diversity has a schedule for diversity training workshops for April.


SIU Dental Center offering monthly specials

The Community Dental Center is offering monthly specials to veterans, students and new patients.
