SIU Dental Center offering discounts to veterans, students and new patients

CARBONDALE, Ill. — The Southern Illinois University Carbondale Community Dental Center is offering monthly specials to veterans, students and new patients.

The clinic, at 1365 Douglas Drive, west of Banterra Center, is a full-service dental office delivering preventive and restorative services to students, faculty, staff and community members at discount prices.

Available care includes exams, X-rays, cleanings, fillings, fluoride, sealants, extractions, root canals, crowns and dentures. Currently all services are self-pay via cash or credit card, although insurance coverage may be accepted in the future.

The center has established monthly pricing specials to assist the public and campus community due the pandemic.

Upcoming specials announced

The clinic’s specials for the next quarter are:

  • April – Student special. All high school and university students save 25% on services when they show their current school identification.
  • May – Military Appreciation Month. All active duty members of the military and veterans receive 25% off services if they show their military identification.
  • June – New patient special. Any first-time patient can get an examination and X-rays for $50.

Staff dentists and hygienists, along with senior students in the SIU dental hygiene program, provide clinic services. COVID-19 safety protocols are adhered to. Accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, the SIU dental hygiene program is the only program in Illinois to offer a bachelor’s degree.
