Faculty and their students have an opportunity on Nov. 4 to showcase their research and creative activities at the Research and Creativity Virtual Expo.
An alumnus and a former faculty member in the cinema and photography program will kick off a discussion series today, Oct. 19, with an examination of race and representation in documentary film. Registration is not required for the public event, which will be available through the free Zoom link.
Illinois State Sen. Kimberly A. Lightford, the first Black woman to serve as the state’s Senate Majority Leader, will discuss a variety of topics, including her career and next month’s elections, during a virtual conversation Tuesday hosted by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute.
Honorary degree/service award nomination deadline is Wednesday
Faculty and staff are reminded that the university is accepting nominations for honorary degree and distinguished service awards that will be presented at May 2021 commencement ceremonies. The nomination deadline is Oct. 21.
The Office of Information Technology is hosting a virtual conversation from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday for faculty, staff and students on increasing inclusivity in technology fields, “Tech Is Embracing Inclusivity to Attract Great Employees — Maybe You?”
