Talk on diversity creating opportunities in technology fields is Thursday
The Office of Information Technology is hosting a virtual conversation from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday for faculty, staff and students on increasing inclusivity in technology fields, “Tech Is Embracing Inclusivity to Attract Great Employees — Maybe You?”
The virtual discussion is accessible by using this link to join or requesting an invitation from oittraining@siu.edu. The conversation will focus on the need to increase the number of underrepresented people in technology fields. The discussion will highlight the current trends, real needs and exceptional opportunities available to students as they begin their careers. Perspectives and questions from faculty and staff are welcomed.
Technology has moved beyond hard-core programming to where students in almost any major can open the door to a wide array of job opportunities if they consider technology employers and build a bank of technology skills.
