SIU Carbondale accepting honorary degree/service award nominations

The university is now accepting nominations for honorary degree and distinguished service awards that will be presented at May 2021 commencement ceremonies.


University Honors Program to host talk on preventing hearing loss

A workshop on Friday will focus on issues of noise and music-induced hearing loss.


Security awareness training is available 

Earlier this year, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) sent invitations to all SIU faculty and staff to participate in the university’s new Security Awareness Training. There has been extensive participation, but the goal is to have everyone complete the training. The university’s corporate security partner and OIT’s internal security team developed the training package. 


Trailblazing retired U.S. Navy four-star admiral to discuss leadership

Michelle Howard, a retired U.S. Navy four-star admiral who became the highest-ranking African American and woman in naval history, will discuss the importance of leadership during a virtual program next week hosted by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute.
