International Festival 2020 is a celebration of the university’s diversity, inclusiveness and global reach. The 58th annual festival “Taste of Cultures” starts Monday and runs through Feb. 14.
On March 28, more than 1,000 SIU Carbondale students, faculty, and staff will come together to say “thank you” to the Carbondale community at one of the largest, one-day, student-run service projects in the nation.
The university community is invited to the join the SIU Alumni Association for an open house of its new Alumni Center from 3-5:30 p.m. Friday. The alumni center is located in the C-Wing of Woody Hall.
SIU will celebrate Charles Darwin during Darwin Week 2020, which starts Monday and runs through Feb. 13, featuring speakers, an art contest, student research symposium and other events on campus.
New Arts Jazztet, a Southern Illinois jazz group comprised of SIU faculty, will perform at Jazz Vespers, an evening prayer service for peace, at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 1501 W. Chautauqua St., Carbondale, at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
