SIU programs enrich the entire community

As a comprehensive research university, we are tasked with offering a well-rounded education to all of our students. But our commitment goes beyond just our students to their families and the entire Southern Illinois region. 

Jerry Kill to assume responsibility for SIU Carbondale athletics program

Former SIU football coach Jerry Kill, who serves as special assistant to Southern Illinois University Carbondale Chancellor Carlo Montemagno, will take over responsibilities for the SIU athletics program beginning Thursday, April 26.

SIU hosting 2018 Sustainability Celebration on Friday 

The university is hosting a Sustainability Celebration to recognize people for their commitment to sustainability, award grants to further enhance the “green” campus and encourage everyone to learn more and get involved in making more sustainable daily choices.

Fashion design majors to show their creations tonight 

Students in the Fashion Design and Merchandising program, including 12 seniors, will show their work today in the 2018 Student Showcase and Runway Fashion Show in the Student Center ballrooms. 

Tickets still available for Ice Cube Concert 

Time is running out to get your tickets for Ice Cube, starting 8 p.m. Saturday at SIU Arena.

Campus Lake will be filled with activity on Saturday 

Campus Lake will be a busy place on Saturday, with two major events planned: the dedication of the renovated Campus Lake boathouse and the 45th annual Great Cardboard Boat Regatta.

Engineering students host annual conference, do well in competitions 

SIU did well in a competition hosted by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering that attracted more than 400 engineering students from 14 universities.

Civil Service Council spring flea market is Saturday 

The annual event that raises funds for scholarships for students begins at 8 a.m. Saturday.
