Gower Translational Research Center naming ceremony will be Friday

The naming ceremony of the Gower Translational Research Center honoring the $2.5 million gift by Bob and Beth Gower to support the research activities at the former McLafferty Annex is at 1 p.m. Friday, April 11.

Celebrate Earth Month through varied events, including Green Fund awards 

SIU Carbondale is celebrating Earth Month in April with a wide variety of special activities, highlighted by the Green Fund Award Ceremony on Earth Day, April 22. This year's theme is “Our Power, Our Planet.”

Commencement volunteers sought

The SIU School of Music will celebrate jazz with two performances in April that feature the musical talents of students and faculty. The performances on Monday, April 14, and April 29 are part of Jazz Appreciation Month.

Students coming to SIU to learn about water resources Wednesday

Students from five high schools in the region will be on campus on Wednesday, April 9, for the Universities Council on Water Resources workshop.

Pay-by-text parking for pay station lots is now available 

The Department of Public Safety’s Parking Division has a new payment option for university faculty, staff, students and visitors who opt to use pay stations. Motorists can now use their cellphone to pay without an account or particular app.

Salukis can take free LinkedIn Learning courses focused on sustainability 

During Earth Month, the Office of Sustainability and Office of Information Technology are encouraging faculty, staff and students to take advantage of LinkedIn Learning, which offers a rich library of free “green” content to faculty, staff and students. 

Reminder: SIU System Faculty Collaboration Award nominations open

The Faculty Advisory Committee for the SIU System (FACSS) welcomes online applications for the 2025 Faculty Collaboration Award. The deadline is April 18.
