Salukis can take free LinkedIn Learning courses focused on sustainability
During Earth Month, the Office of Sustainability and Office of Information Technology are encouraging faculty, staff and students to take advantage of LinkedIn Learning (LIL), which offers a rich library of free “green” content to faculty, staff and students.
The wide array of LIL content includes:
- Short one- to five-minute snippets that provide a quick understanding of a specific topic — including chapters from larger, more comprehensive courses. Examples include Sustainability 101: How did it all get started? and Calculating Your Carbon Footprint.
- More extensive courses that range from 15 minutes to several hours that you can complete at your own pace. Examples include Closing the Green Skills Gap to Power a Greener Economy and Drive Sustainability, Driving Sustainability at Your Organization and Daily Habits to Live Sustainably.
- Full courses that offer additional content, some which also provide an LIL badge to include in your LinkedIn profile and resume include Improve Your Sustainability Skills and Sustainability Transformation for Leaders.
- Coursework is also available to help participants prepare to take professional exams, including Practice Exam for LEED Green Associate and Cert Prep: LEED Green Associate.
The sustainability office has highlighted more courses in the Saluki Green Action Team newsletter (sign up here).
All members of the SIU campus community have cost-free access to thousands of LIL topics such as sustainability — each uniquely focused on their interests, current skills and previous exposure to concepts. Access is available by using a current SIU email address and password.
