SIU in elite company in exchange program with Taiwan
SIU is one of just 23 institutions of higher learning in the United States, along with 10 leading Taiwanese universities, chosen to participate in the inaugural year of the Taiwan Huayu Bilingual Exchanges of Selected Talents (BEST) Program. Three SIU students are enjoying a rare immersive international learning experience in Taiwan, and additional Salukis could soon be part of it.
Successful Black entrepreneur alumnus headlines SIU TRIO Week celebration
Alumnus Charles Alexander, who co-founded The Black Bread Company, a gourmet sliced bread company worth about $50 million, returns to campus to speak today, Feb. 21, as part of the university’s weeklong TRIO celebration. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Big Muddy New Play Festival highlights student work
A comedic mystery that features five students playing 20 different characters, along with three full-length stage readings from graduate students, will combine for a glimpse into the talent within the theater and dance programs this week. The 10th annual Big Muddy New Play Festival is Thursday through Sunday, Feb. 24-27, with the action on the McLeod Theater stage.
Award-winning CPA to present lecture on diversity, accessibility
Charlene Rhinehart, an award-winning certified public accountant, will discuss her career during a virtual event on March 2 hosted by the College of Business and Analytics’ Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
