SIU students win major equity analysis competition 

A team of four College of Business and Analytics students under the guidance of Tim Marlo, finance clinical associate professor, recently won a CFA Institute Research Challenge regional contest for the first time. The team will continue advancing in the worldwide tournament.


Law school lecture will look at AI in health care 

One of the nation’s leading experts on medical ethics and health law will discuss the evolving issues with integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into health care in a virtual lecture on March 22, hosted by the SIU School of Law.


Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra, solo winners to perform Baroque, classical favorites 

The Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra season continues later this month featuring Baroque and classical-era works by Vivaldi, Vitali, Haydn, Beethoven and Schubert. The performances are March 29 and 30 at Shryock Auditorium on the SIU campus. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. both nights.


Pender counsels frontline health care workers during pandemic

Debra Pender, associate professor in counseling and rehabilitation education in the School of Health Sciences and a licensed clinical professional counselor, is helping frontline health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic by volunteering her time to provide free crisis intervention counseling through the national Emotional PPE Project.
