Law School meets important needs for region, beyond 

When nationally recognized legal scholar Hiram H. Lesar came to Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1972 to piece together the beginnings of the SIU School of Law, a clear mission was improving the available legal services and attorney access in the region.

Acclaimed pianists to play at SIU’s Southern Illinois Piano Festival Oct. 2-5 

The university’s biennial Southern Illinois Piano Festival returns to campus Oct. 2-5 with two concerts (featuring one or two pianos), three masterclasses and four clinics.


Information technology to host cybersecurity events next month

As a part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October, the Office of Information Technology will host Security Day and weekly workshops to provide cybersecurity information and safety tips.


Sustainability Council announces new Green Fund opportunity

The Sustainability Council will be facilitating a new  fall semester pre-screening Green Fund period which will give faculty, staff and students an opportunity to further idea-development and receive dedicated feedback, especially for larger, more complex projects.
