The Non-Instructional Program Review Committee has submitted its final report and recommendations, which I have reviewed and now share with the university community. The committee’s charge was to “review administrative and operational structure and expenses with a focus on identifying potential cost savings through increased efficiency, consolidation or other matters.” More

Online MBA program earns recognition

For the third consecutive year, the university’s online MBA program has earned a spot among the top 40 “Best Online MBA Programs” according to U.S. News and World Report. More


Classroom equipment training is available 

Faculty, staff and teaching assistants who will be teaching in the university’s open-access, technology-enhanced classrooms are encouraged to attend classroom equipment training over the next week. More


Energy Boost Seed Grant proposal deadline is Jan. 31

The deadline to submit Energy Boost Seed Grant proposals for fiscal year 2018 is extended to Jan. 31. More


Textbook Awards Ceremony is Jan. 17                                                                                               

More than 30 students will receive the funds necessary for textbooks and supplies for the 2017 spring semester from the SIU Alumni Association during a ceremony at the Student Center on Tuesday, Jan. 17. More


January ‘Illinois Ethics Matters’ newsletter available

The monthly Illinois Ethics Matters newsletter for January is available here. The Office of Executive Inspector General for the agencies of the Illinois governor publishes the newsletter as a way to stay abreast of current issues relating to ethical matters. The university’s Ethics Office website is at http://ethics.siu.edu/. The website contains information regarding how to file a complaint and the relevant contact information, as well as many other resources.


SIU Today returns Jan. 19

SIU Today will return Thursday, Jan. 19, as the university observes the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday on Monday, Jan. 16.
