Energy Boost Seed Grant proposal deadline is Jan. 31
The deadline to submit Energy Boost Seed Grant proposals for fiscal year 2018 is extended to Jan. 31.
Tomasz Wiltowski, director at SIU's Advanced Coal and Energy Research Center, encourages faculty who are involved or are interested in energy-related research areas to review the request for proposals and submit an application.
The competitive, peer-reviewed program provides initial support for new, long-term programs of collaborative interdisciplinary energy-related research that have strong potential to attract external funding. Proposals should involve multiple colleges, centers and/or SIU campuses. Proposals must also include at least one junior (pre-tenure) and one senior (tenured) faculty investigator, represent new initiatives and target external funding opportunities.
Researchers can receive up to $50,000 to support their research. Up to five awards will be given; recipients will be announced during SIU Energy Day in April. Three proposals received funding last year.
