Southern Illinois University will move forward with the selection of interim chancellors for the Carbondale and Edwardsville campuses. More

Intersection at east entrance to Greek Row closed next week

The “Y” intersection in the road at the east entrance to Greek Row on Douglas Drive will be closed Tuesday, July 21, through Thursday, July 23, for construction work. Traffic will need to enter and exit the Greek Row area from the west, either South McLafferty Road or Douglas Drive by Stone Center while the road is closed. Traffic from South Oakland Avenue will not be able to turn right (west) as usual to go to offices along Greek Row or the Hiram H. Lesar Law Building. Physical Plant Services will have barricades and signs placed at different locations to assist in directing traffic.


Departments may participate in ‘Saluki Basecamp’

SIU receives alcohol education grant from NCAA

Research focuses on improving ‘big data’ analysis

Shahram Rahimi, professor and chair of the Department of Computer Science, and his students are working on software that can analyze so-called “big data” using a two-phase, $220,000 grant from a major health care corporation. More


Employee benefit announcements

Faculty and staff are urged to look at important benefits information on the Human Resources website. The announcements include information regarding an insurance dependent eligibility audit; the MCAP rollover feature; a new prescription vendor for Quality Health Care and Open Access plans, and a new pre-certification requirement for HealthLink participants. Veterans’ mental health workshop set

Faculty and staff are invited to a mental health summit and workshop hosted by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The event at SIU Carbondale is via webinar in the Student Center’s Kaskaskia/Missouri rooms on July 28. More
