Creating the first campus master plan in two decades

SIU Carbondale is formulating a campus master plan, which will determine how the physical campus will meet the needs for education, research and innovation over the next 20 to 30 years.


International Festival set for Feb. 3-7

Campus employers can sign up now for Job and Internship Fair

The university’s spring 2025 Job and Internship Fair on Feb. 18 will connect Salukis with career and internship opportunities. Employers, including campus units, are encouraged to register by Feb. 3.


Rockefeller Brothers Fund president to discuss geopolitics

Stephen Heintz, president and CEO of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, will join the SIU Carbondale Paul Simon Public Policy Institute for a virtual conversation at noon Thursday, Jan. 30, to discuss the rapidly changing global landscape and the role of philanthropy in fostering a more just and sustainable world. 


SIU Versa’tile faculty-student chamber ensemble to perform

The SIU Carbondale School of Music will present the faculty-student Versa’tile Chamber Music Ensemble on Wednesday, Jan. 29, in Morris Library’s third-floor rotunda. The free, public program begins at 7 p.m. and is part of the Yellow Moon Gyroid Concert Series.


Reminder: Courses to assist in online teaching practices, strategies start Wednesday 

Extended Campus has scheduled four 60-minute interactive sessions to assist SIU Carbondale online faculty and instructors. The first session this semester starts Wednesday, Jan. 29.

The Department of Public Safety’s January 2025 issue of the “Saluki Watch Dawg” is available. In this month’s edition, learn more about the Safety, Awareness, Facts and Education (S.A.F.E.) website and options for reporting crime or incidents, the 2024 DPS employee award recipients, new DPS hires and tips for students as they begin a new semester.


SIU’s Export Controls newsletter is available 

The monthly SIU Export Controls newsletter for January 2025 is available. The newsletter provides a resource for current export control issues and events that could affect SIU and its faculty. This edition includes information on malign foreign talent recruitment programs.
