Saluki Takeover Tour engages students, educators, alumni

The Saluki Takeover Tour of Southern Illinois visited multiple high schools and community colleges and hosted six receptions for alumni and community members. The tour ended May 4 at Walker’s Bluff Casino Resort in Carterville. Attended by 400 Salukis, the event included welcoming incoming students with an SIU hat ceremony.


SIU Simmons Law School commencement ceremony is May 10  

Thomas C. Britton, who has a five-decade relationship with the SIU Simmons Law School as a member of its first graduating class, will deliver the keynote address during commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 10. The ceremony at 1 p.m. in Shryock Auditorium will honor 77 graduates in the Class of 2024.


New teacher graduate pinning ceremony

The newest group of 87 graduates from SIU Carbondale’s Teacher Education Programs will be recognized during a special pinning ceremony at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Shryock Auditorium.


SIU Women’s Club awards record scholarship funding in 2024 

Four students received scholarships from the SIU Women's Club, marking the first time the organization has awarded four $2,000 scholarships in one year.


SIU Today begins summer schedule May 16 

After the spring semester ends on Saturday, May 11, SIU Today will begin its summer schedule and come out once a week, each Thursday, beginning May 16. Submission deadlines will remain the same: two business days before the desired publication date. Tuesday, May 7, is the deadline for this Thursday’s edition. The deadline for the May 16 edition will be May 14.
