SIU student team advances to national business competition
An SIU business student team is heading for a national competition on business solutions after taking top honors in the regional round of the Deloitte FanTAXtic Case Competition. The event gives students a realistic business challenge and asks them to present solutions that address business and tax implications.
Wil Clark named SIU’s chief information officer
Wil Clark, who has served as Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s chief information officer on an interim basis since December 2021, has been named to the permanent position, effective, November 4.
SIU addressing students’ needs during holidays and all year
As the holiday season approaches, the university is offering students numerous options for dining, lodging and other support, both during the holidays when usual options aren’t available as well as throughout the year in conjunction with the university’s new Higher Education Resources and Opportunities for Salukis in Need (HEROES) program.
Mandated CSA, Title IX training deadline is Dec. 10
Faculty and staff at SIU Carbondale and the SIU School of Medicine who have been identified as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and Title IX Responsible Employee are reminded to complete the mandated training by Dec. 10.
SIU’s Thanks “Giving Back” Food Drive on Nov. 29 will benefit students
A special event to benefit SIU Carbondale students – the Thanks “Giving Back” Food Drive – returns in 2022 after a two-year hiatus. The collection effort is set for 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 29.
SIU Today holiday schedule
SIU Today is taking a holiday on Thursday, Nov. 24, in observance of Thanksgiving. SIU Today will publish on Monday, Nov. 21, and return on Nov. 28. The last issue before winter break will be Dec. 15. SIU Today will then resume in January.
