The academic achievements of 1,400 Southern Illinois University Carbondale students and recent graduates will be celebrated at fall 2021 commencement exercises on Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Banterra Center.
Fred Martino, who has more than two decades experience in public media – including the last 13 years directing content for KRWG Public Media at New Mexico State University – starts today (Dec. 6) as executive director for WSIU Public Broadcasting Service, the broadcasting arm of SIU Carbondale.

The Department of Public Safety’s December 2021 issue of the “Saluki Watch Dawg” is available. This month’s edition includes information on hazardous weather preparedness; online safety reminders; tips for driving safely in winter and cold weather; crime reporting options; end-of-semester residence hall guidelines, and Department of Public Safety service awards.
Faculty and staff are being asked by the Career Development Center to remind students of a survey for undergraduate and graduate students who are planning to graduate this week.
