Diversity, inclusion and social justice are hallmarks of Pensoneau-Conway’s leadership 

As a three-degree Southern Illinois University system alumna and faculty member the past nine years, Sandy Pensoneau-Conway understandably holds a deep affection for SIU Carbondale and its students. Yet her leadership, empathy for others and tireless work ethic in serving the university and community also embodies the qualities of the 2021 Emerging Leader Award recipient.

Openings available for university community to volunteer at commencement 

Faculty, staff, students and community members have an opportunity in helping our newest alumni go out in Saluki style and celebrate their accomplishments by volunteering this weekend, May 7-9, at spring 2021 commencement ceremonies at Saluki Stadium.

Operation Graduation Vaccination set for this week 

SIU Carbondale is partnering with the Jackson County Health Department on Operation Graduation Vaccination to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to anyone age 16 and older at Saluki Stadium on Friday and Saturday, May 7-8.

Benefit Choice open enrollment deadline is May 31 

The deadline for the State Employees Group Insurance Program Benefit Choice open enrollment for all eligible employees is May 31. For the upcoming year, there are plan changes, and insurance premiums will increase. Employees are encouraged to review the booklet and select the best coverage for themselves and/or their families.

Human Resources conducting time audit

As required by Central Management Services, the Department of Human Resources will be conducting an annual time audit to review absence without pay (AWOP) time use by employees for the 2021 fiscal year. Additional information on the audit is available by contacting Human Resources at 618-536-3369.

SIU Today begins summer schedule next week 

This is the last week in the spring semester that SIU Today will have Monday and Thursday issues. SIU Today will start its summer schedule and come out once a week each Thursday, beginning May 13.
