Installation, virtual lecture to honor R. Buckminster Fuller

An art exhibition and installation, along with an Oct. 28 virtual lecture and discussion, will pay tribute to the work of designer, scientist and architect R. Buckminster Fuller.


State-required training related to harassment, discrimination is due by Nov. 25 

All faculty and staff should have received an important email yesterday on Harassment and Discrimination Training, previously known as sexual harassment training. This training is required by the State of Illinois at least annually and is in addition to the federally required Preventing Discrimination and Sexual Violence training program.


University honors course proposal deadline is Nov. 16

The University Honors Program is accepting course proposals from faculty for fall 2021 and spring 2022 UHON seminars. The theme for the year is “The State of Climate Emergency: The Earth and Us.”


Mandatory ethics training deadline is Oct. 31

All SIU Carbondale faculty, staff, graduate assistants, volunteers, student employees and extra help employees are reminded that the deadline for the mandatory 2020 annual ethics training is Oct. 31. The ethics training is available on the Desire2Learn (D2L) platform. School of Medicine employees who are on the Carbondale campus will complete training using HealthStream.


W-4 reminder for university employees

University employees hired in 2020 and anyone making tax withholding changes this year are now required to use a 2020 Form W-4 Employee’s Withholding Certificate, which is different from previous versions. The new form reflects federal tax law changes that took place in 2018, and it is available on the Payroll website.


OneDrive is SIU’s secure file storage service

As a part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the Office of Information Technology wants to remind the campus community about secure file storage. SIU provides faculty, staff and students each with 1 terabyte of file storage in OneDrive, Microsoft’s cloud storage service.
