As we near the midpoint of the semester, it’s time to pause and acknowledge what we have accomplished as a community.

 

SIU agreements add options for students transferring from Kaskaskia College

New articulation agreements between Southern Illinois University Carbondale and Kaskaskia College in Centralia provide an easier path for students to earn their SIU bachelor’s degrees.


SIU soybean research finds new tool to fight sudden death syndrome

Guided by two School of Agricultural Sciences professors, Mirian Pimentel, a doctoral student in the program, discovered a promising new tool to fight sudden death syndrome in soybeans. The findings were recently published in Plant Disease, a leading journal in plant pathology, and her article was selected as the editor’s pick for the month of August.


COVID-19 testing is available

Faculty, staff and students are reminded that there are multiple ways they can be tested for COVID-19. On-campus and drive-through options are available. Appointments are required. For more information, visit siu.edu/coronavirus/testing/.
