SIU is first state university to deliver in key COVID-19 test substance shortage 

A team from SIU Carbondale last week delivered its first round of a key substance needed for COVID-19 tests to health authorities in Springfield. SIU was the first university in the state to do so.


More than $240,000 raised to help SIU Carbondale students

As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, many college students struggle to continue their education. Some lack adequate technology or internet access to make the sudden transition to online learning. Others lost jobs due to the closure of businesses or can’t work due to the closure of schools, putting stress on budgets for necessities like food, medication, rent and diapers.


Chancellor finalist virtual interviews continue this week 

Virtual interviews with the three finalists for SIU Carbondale chancellor continue this week. During their respective two-day remote interviews, each of the candidates will hold a public forum that will be streamed live at chancellor.siu.edu/search and posted on the site afterwards. No access codes are required.


Remaining Microsoft Teams training for April 

The Office of Information Technology is reminding faculty and staff that it is offering online Q&A sessions for Microsoft Teams (Teams) in lieu of in-person training until the end of the semester.
