SIU Day of Giving totals top $1.6 million

The preliminary total raised through Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s fourth Day of Giving on March 4 reached more than $1.6 million. The total reflects more than 2,441 individual gifts from 43 states and 10 countries.


Annual ‘Celebrate Women’ event is today

The 24th annual “Celebrate Women: Honoring Inclusive Excellence” reception and awards ceremony is from 4:30 to 7 p.m., today, Thursday, March 5,  in Morris Library’s John C. Guyon Auditorium and first-floor rotunda. Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza is the guest speaker for this year’s event, “Votes for Women: A Centennial.”


SURS general retirement session is April 22

University employees may participate in the upcoming State Universities Retirement System (SURS) general retirement session on April 22. This presentation is for all SURS Tier I and Tier 2 participants.


Faculty/Staff Appreciation basketball game is tonight

Saluki Athletics invites all SIU faculty and staff members and their families to be part of the faculty/staff appreciation women’s basketball game tonight at Banterra Center.


New Arts Jazztet will perform Sunday 

New Arts Jazztet, a Southern Illinois jazz group comprised of SIU faculty, will perform at Jazz Vespers, an evening prayer service for peace, at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 1501 W. Chautauqua St., Carbondale, at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
