SIU to celebrate 150 years of success, look to future with the Day of Giving on March 4

The university has spent its 150th anniversary year celebrating its past and looking toward its future. The focus on the future continues with the 2020 Day of Giving on March 4, when university alumni and friends can support a range of programs and initiatives that will move the university forward.


Big Muddy Film Festival has history of student, community involvement 

Over the last four decades, the Big Muddy Film Festival has grown from an idea that was initially met with trepidation into one of the university’s signature events.


Tenney lecture will focus on impact of climate change 

Justin Schoof, director of the School of Earth Systems and Sustainability, will deliver the University Honors Program Charles D. Tenney Distinguished Lecture on Thursday night in Morris Library’s John C. Guyon Auditorium.


Faculty/staff regalia orders are Tuesday

A representative of Herff Jones is on campus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday in Anthony Hall, Room 15, to assist faculty and staff in ordering regalia. To ensure regalia arrive prior to the spring 2020 commencement on May 9, orders must be placed by April 3.


Faculty early career workshop registration is open

A workshop for junior faculty to become acquainted with the National Science Foundation’s Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) is set for March 19.


Artist Lindsay Pichaske to present lecture Thursday

Artist and educator Lindsay Pichaske will present a lecture on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the University Museum Auditorium in Faner Hall.
