Faculty early career workshop registration is open
A workshop for junior faculty to become acquainted with the National Science Foundation’s Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) is set for March 19.
The workshop is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon in Morris Library, Room 752/754. Registration for the workshop is open and interested faculty are asked to register at least one week before the scheduled workshop. Seating is limited so pre-registration is required.
The CAREER program offers NSF’s most prestigious awards in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations.
Gary Kinsel, Interim Vice Chancellor for Research and Boyd Goodson, Professor in Chemistry and Biochemistry, will provide insight on how to craft a successful proposal and will address frequently asked questions. OSPA Pre-Awards staff will also be in attendance to answer administrative questions about CAREER submissions, NSF, and submitting proposals at SIU in general.
