Hundreds of high school students will visit during SIU Day on Wednesday

Share what is great about SIU on Wednesday, as the campus will be hosting about 900 students from throughout the region at SIU Day. Volunteers are still needed.


SIU celebrates 2019 Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month Sept. 14-Oct.14 

Guest speakers, community service projects, discussions, an immigration simulation, movies, festivals and much more are planned as the campus celebrates Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month through Oct. 14.


Flu immunizations will be available next month 

The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) will be providing free flu immunizations until Nov. 15 for all active and retired SIU Carbondale employees, as well as surviving spouses enrolled in a state-sponsored health plan. The Jackson County Health Department will administer the immunizations twice in the upcoming weeks.


‘BigDawg’ supercomputer workshop is Friday 

A workshop for researchers using “R,” a programming language designed specifically for statistics, is set for Friday.
