Balancing the budget

Even as we move forward, we must be mindful of our resources. Our goal is always to balance our expenses with our revenue to live within our means.

 

SIU is now the highest accredited university arboretum in Illinois 

SIU is the first university in Illinois to earn Level II Arboretum Accreditation from the ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and SIU is now featured in the Morton Register of Arboreta. This is the only global initiative that officially recognizes arboreta for development, capacity and professionalism.

Employment Eligibility Verification information 

The current I-9 form for Employment Eligibility Verification expires on Saturday. Please continue to use the current form even after the expiration date has passed. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office has not released a revised form at this time. Updated information will be provided when the new version becomes available. Please contact Human Resources-Employee Records at 618/453-6698 with any questions.

Volunteers needed for SIU Day on Sept. 18

Faculty and staff have the opportunity next month to welcome hundreds of high school students to campus and help them discover what makes SIU Carbondale unique and the place to be for college.

Study Abroad and Passport Fair is next month

Faculty, staff, students and the community are invited to attend a Study Abroad and Passport Fair on Sept. 11.

Volunteers needed to help promote the university’s 150th anniversary

There are still opportunities to help spread the word about the great events on campus and to promote the university’s 150th anniversary.

Leadership challenges facing Illinois, nation highlight Simon Institute fall 2019 lineup 

The Paul Simon Public Policy Institute will continue to examine the leadership challenges confronting Illinois and the United States with its fall 2019 program.

No SIU Today Monday

There will be no SIU Today on Monday due to the Labor Day holiday. SIU Today will resume next Thursday.
