Volunteers needed for SIU Day on Sept. 18
Faculty and staff have the opportunity next month to welcome hundreds of high school students to campus and help them discover what makes SIU Carbondale unique and the place to be for college.
Volunteers are needed for SIU Day on Sept. 18 to greet and assist students at Banterra Center, walk them to the Student Center or various assigned locations on campus, or help with lunch. Volunteers can sign up for morning or afternoon sessions. The event runs from 7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
A wide variety of volunteer roles are available; some involve walking and/or standing and some may be outdoors, but organizers will assist in finding a spot you’re comfortable with.
You can sign up online to help at SIU Day. Short volunteer training sessions are set for noon and 4 p.m. on Sept. 17 in Room 170 of the Student Services Building.
