The monthly Illinois Ethics Matters newsletter for January is available. The Office of Executive Inspector General publishes the newsletter to allow state employees to stay informed of current issues relating to ethics. Minority police officers may suffer from less “Ferguson effect,” new research says 

After conducting surveys with the St. Louis County Police Department (SLCPD) before the 2014 death of Michael Brown, and then returning for in-depth interviews after the unrest period, researcher Tammy Kochel is comparing the changes in officer behavior while also evaluating how that might adjust depending on personal and racial experiences. The Department of Public Safety’s January 2019 issue of the ‘Saluki Watch Dawg’ is available.
