Online ethics training underway

Mandatory online 2018 ethics training for all permanent SIU faculty, staff, graduate assistants, and volunteers is Oct. 1-31. School of Medicine civil service employees who are on the Carbondale campus will also complete training using the Desire2Learn. A letter from Chancellor Carlo Montemagno emphasizes the importance for the test and a notice provides information for taking the test. Full story


SURS general retirement session is Oct. 17

University employees may participate the upcoming State Universities Retirement System (SURS) general retirement session on Oct. 17. This presentation is for all SURS Tier I and Tier 2 participants. Full story


Deadline for honorary degree/service award nominations is Oct. 24

The nomination deadline for honorary degree and distinguished service awards that will be presented at May 2019 commencement ceremonies is Oct. 24. Nominations are also open to the SIU School of Medicine in Springfield. Full story

This month’s edition includes details on the annual security and fire safety report; information on campus security authorities; domestic violence awareness information and the upcoming Carbondale Halloween event.


SIU named to host 2019 national engineering competition 

Engineers-in-training from around the country will descend on campus this spring for a national competition that challenges bridge designers seeking the ultimate in strength and efficiency. Full story
