Continuing progress on academic organization

During the last two weeks, the Graduate Council and Faculty Senate have voted on several proposals for new schools. To date, five proposals have been approved by both bodies, and three more have been approved by the Senate and are pending votes in the Council. Full story

Local man involved with Thailand cave rescue to give behind-the-scenes look at the daring mission 

While most of the world was held captive by the story of 12 boys and their coach trapped in a dark cave, a specialized team was working frantically to fix the problem. One member on the rescue mission was local restaurant owner Thanet Natisri. Now, Natisri is sharing the real story of the incredible rescue. Full story


Critically acclaimed “Churchill” play to be featured at SIU 

The yearly lecture hosted by the University Honors Program has been turned on its ear by bringing in a one-man live performance of the critically acclaimed play, “Churchill.” Full story
