Open forum is today
Chancellor Carlo Montemagno will hold an open forum today, Thursday, Oct. 19, to discuss the reemergence of SIU. The forum will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Student Center Auditorium. Community members, faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend.

This month’s edition includes the department’s annual security and fire safety report, auto burglary prevention tips, Safety Awareness Facts and Education (SAFE) information and SIU Safe Walk information.
‘Illinois Ethics Matters’ newsletter available
The monthly Illinois Ethics Matters newsletters for October is available. The Office of Executive Inspector General for the agencies of the Illinois governor publishes the newsletter as a way to stay abreast of current issues relating to ethical matters. The university’s Ethics Office website is at http://ethics.siu.edu/. The website contains information regarding how to file a complaint and the relevant contact information, as well as many other resources.

SURS election nomination packets available
Candidate packets and petition forms for the April 2018 State Universities Retirement System (SURS) trustee elections are available.
