Summer flexible schedule pilot program starts in June 

SIU is launching a pilot summer flexible schedule program that will allow many employees to extend their workdays on Monday through Thursday in order to take Friday afternoons off. More

Three upcoming conferences for faculty and staff will examine the interconnectedness of technology platforms and the significance of technology in higher education. More

College accepting proposals for research symposium

The College of Applied Sciences and Arts is accepting proposals for its annual research symposium. More


‘Illinois Ethics Matters’ newsletters are available 

The monthly Illinois Ethics Matters newsletters for April and May are available. The Office of Executive Inspector General for the agencies of the Illinois governor publishes the newsletter as a way to stay abreast of current issues relating to ethical matters. The university’s Ethics Office website is at http://ethics.siu.edu/. The website contains information regarding how to file a complaint and the relevant contact information, as well as many other resources.


Swamp rabbit focus of habitat study in Cypress Creek refuge  

Elizabeth Hillard wants to know more about the health of the Cypress Creek National Wildlife Refuge in southernmost Illinois, so she’s checking with some of the residents -- swamp rabbits.  More


‘Eclipse Comic Con’ planned for eclipse weekend 

Eclipse Comic Con, a galactic event in more ways than one, is coming to campus Aug. 19-20, one of many events planned in conjunction with the total solar eclipse. More


Associate chancellor-CDO search to reopen later this year

After the cancellation of campus visits by two of the three finalists, the search committee for the associate chancellor and chief diversity officer position recommended earlier this week to close that search and conduct a new search later this year. More


SIU Today schedule change reminder

SIU Today begins its summer schedule after today’s (May 11) edition. After a two-week break, SIU Today will come out once a week, each Thursday, beginning May 25. 

SIU Today welcomes submissions from faculty and staff. Please read the submission guidelines and use the online submission form to share campus announcements and event information.
