SIU Day, a celebration of the university’s connection to the region, is coming to the Du Quoin State Fair on Sunday, Aug. 28. More

Safe Zone training workshops begin tonight 

Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in Safe Zone training workshops, Monday, Aug. 22 through Sept. 8, during Weeks of Welcome. More


Saluki Fan Fest is Tuesday 

The sixth annual Saluki Fan Fest is at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Saluki Stadium. The free event for the entire family gives fans the opportunity to visit the stadium and interact with members of the 2016 Saluki football and volleyball teams. Prairie Farms will be serving ice cream while supplies last. Saluki players, coaches, cheerleaders, shakers and mascots will be on hand to greet fans. More information on event highlights is here.


Discussion to focus on Australian murder case 

A high-profile case of an Australian woman wrongly convicted of the death of her daughter will be discussed at the SIU School of Law Tuesday, Aug. 23. More


Classroom equipment training offered 

Faculty, staff and teaching assistants who will be teaching in the university’s open-access, technology-enhanced classrooms are encouraged to attend classroom equipment training this month. More
