Safe Zone training workshops begin tonight
Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in Safe Zone training workshops, Monday, Aug. 22 through Sept. 8, during Weeks of Welcome.
The training is part of an effort by the Student Multicultural Resource Center to increase the appreciation of diversity and to provide skills needed for people to interact effectively across different identities. The sessions also educate the campus community about LGBTQ issues.
The training sessions, times and locations are:
- Monday, Aug. 22: 7 to 8:30 p.m., Upper level, Grinnell Hall.
- Tuesday, Aug. 23: 1 to 2:30 p.m., Student Center, Ohio Room.
- Wednesday, Aug. 24: 7 to 8:30 p.m., Lentz Dining Hall, #1.
- Thursday, Aug. 25: Noon to 1:30 p.m., Student Center, Ohio Room.
- Friday, Aug. 26: 1 to 2:30 p.m., Upper level, Grinnell Hall.
- Aug. 30: 7 to 8:30 p.m., Mae Smith Hall Area Council Room.
- Sept. 1: Noon to 1:30 p.m., Student Center, Ohio Room.
- Sept. 6: 1 to 2:30 p.m., Student Center, Ohio Room.
- Sept. 8: 1 to 2:30 p.m., Wall and Grand Apartments.
