SIU Faculty and Staff:
I know many of you are receiving questions from students and others about the future of SIU given the state budget impasse. I share an email sent to students earlier today to help answer this question. I appreciate all you do to help reinforce our message that we will continue to fulfill our mission of education, research and service in spite of the budget impasse.
Provost Fellow Program deadline is April 15
The Provost Fellow Program provides part-time academic leadership experience and skill development to a member of the faculty who has an interest in academic administration. The selected faculty member will engage in regular operations and activities of the provost’s office. More
Men’s basketball ‘Fan Appreciation Night’ is Thursday
The Saluki men’s basketball team will hold a postseason celebration at the SIU Arena at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 7. The event is open to the public and admission is free. Head Coach Barry Hinson and Director of Athletics Tommy Bell will speak, SIU Hall of Fame broadcaster Mike Reis will emcee the event, and team members will receive awards. Fans will have the opportunity to interact with the players and coaching staff, take pictures and get autographs. Picked to finish ninth in the Missouri Valley Conference pre-season poll, the Salukis tied for fourth place and ended with a 22-10 record; the most wins by the program since 2007. Hot dogs, soda and popcorn will be available at the concession stand for $1 each.

‘Farm to Fork Dinner’ planned for April 26
A Farm to Fork Dinner will offer a unique opportunity for people to experience, perhaps in a new and different way, the fare grown in the region. More
