‘Saluki Watch Dawg’ April is issue is available

The Department of Public Safety’s April issue of the ‘Saluki Watch Dawg’ is available. This month’s edition previews “Shop with a Cop,” recent and upcoming parking improvements, campus crime prevention tips, and sexual assault awareness tips. The newsletter is also available on the department’s website.


Promotion and tenure workshops available

Two workshops for deans, directors and department chairs on the promotion and tenure process will be available over the next week. The workshops are 10-11 a.m., Thursday, April 9, and 3-4 p.m., Monday, April 13. The workshops will be in Morris Library, room 752-754. The workshops will include Desire to Learn (D2L)-specific information. Please RSVP to Emily Williams, Office of the Associate Provost for Academic Administration, at ewilliam@siu.edu. Workshops for department- and college-level coordinators will be scheduled for late summer.

Workshops for faculty on the promotion and tenure process will be available this month. The workshops are 2-3 p.m., April 15, and 11 a.m. to noon, April 16. Zhu to present Neckers lecture

Xiaoyang Zhu, a professor in the Department of Chemistry at Columbia University, will present the James W. Neckers Lecture at 4 p.m., Friday, April 10, in Van Lente Auditorium, Neckers Room 240. Zhu will present “Exciton Fission and Solar Energy Conversion Beyond the Limit.”


‘Experimental Perceptions’ art exhibit on display

The work of current graduate in the Master of Fine Arts Painting, Drawing and Printmaking program is on display with the art exhibition, “Experimental Perceptions.” The exhibit is through May 15 in Morris Library’s rotunda, just outside of John C. Guyon Auditorium.
