Haack to deliver Leys lecture

Susan Haack, a professor of law and professor of philosophy at the University of Miami, will deliver the Wayne Leys Memorial Lecture at 3:30 p.m., Friday, April 3, in the University Museum Auditorium. Haack will present “Nothing Fancy: Some Simple Truths about Truth in the Law.” She is the also Distinguished Professor in the Humanities, Senior Scholar in Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami. The Department of Philosophy sponsors the Leys Lecture Series.

Lecture to look at how the brain regulates puberty

Dr. Ursula B. Kaiser, professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, will present a lecture on how the brain regulates puberty and how genetic mutations in patients cause abnormalities in puberty and reproduction. The lecture, “Neuroendocrine Circuits: First Ground for the Control of Puberty and Reproduction,” is from noon to 1 p.m., April 10, in Life Science III, Room 1059. Center for Teaching Excellence to host faculty workshop

A faculty workshop offered by the Center for Teaching Excellence will help instructors who have questions about the effective use of Desire2Learn (D2L) tools, SIUOnline technical issues, or third-party tool and textbook integrations. The three-hour workshop is at 10 a.m., April 8, in Morris Library, Room 174.
