‘Saluki Watch Dawg’ November issue is available

The Department of Public Safety’s November issue of the 'Saluki Watch Dawg' is available. This month’s edition highlights theft and identity theft prevention, bicycle theft prevention and an upcoming women’s self-defense class. The newsletter is also available on the SIU Police website.


WellSIU ‘Tuesday Trek’ is Nov. 4

The next 'Tuesday Trek' of the fall semester is at 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4. The 1.5- to 2.5-mile walk will begin at the Student Services Building Pavilion. In the event of inclement weather, the location will be the Student Recreation Center indoor track.

More than 145 million adults now include walking as part of a physically active lifestyle. More than six in 10 people walk for fun, relaxation, exercise or transportation. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the percentage of people who walk at least once for 10 minutes or more in the previous week rose from 56 percent in 2005 to 62 percent in 2010.
