ICYMI: Funding for research-related costs, key hires
This summer, the university created a new system for recovering so-called indirect costs associated with externally funded research and service grants and for distributing the funds. In addition, key leadership positions were filled.
The Chancellor’s Indirect Cost Recovery Task Force, made up of faculty, staff and administration from around campus, formulated a plan to divide the money among various offices responsible for supporting research projects. Read the full story, which includes a list of task force members.
New SIU leaders include:
- Tim Leonard, director of intercollegiate athletics.
- Costas Tsatsoulis, vice chancellor for research and graduate school dean.
- Hong Cheng, dean of the College of Arts and Media.
- Joddy R. Murray, dean of the College of Liberal Arts.
- Tena Bennett, assistant vice chancellor for auxiliary enterprise.
- Renada Greer, executive director of the Student Multicultural Resource Center.
