Plans for spring semester take shape

With fall semester well underway, it is time to look forward to spring. Our goal for the spring semester remains the same: provide a quality education in a safe environment.

SIU will recognize October as LGBTQ History Month

“Be courageous. Be kind. Be you.” That’s the theme of the university’s 2020 LGBTQ History Month celebration in October. A variety of special activities, many virtual or livestreamed, will mark the occasion.


Flu immunizations will be available next month

The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) will be providing free flu immunizations until Nov. 15, 2020 for all active and retired SIU Carbondale employees, as well as surviving spouses enrolled in a state-sponsored health plan. Dependent insurance can be billed.


Danforth to discuss diplomacy, politics and role of religion in public affairs

John C. Danforth, a former U.S. senator and ambassador to the United Nations, will discuss his career in politics, diplomacy, and the role of religion in public affairs during a virtual conversation Wednesday hosted by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute.


Virtual Innova-ship program begins in October

A new session of Innova-ship, a no-cost training program that helps people take their creative concepts and innovations to the next level, starts next month at the university’s Research Park. Registration is underway.


Reminder to enroll in multi-factor authentication

The Office of Information Technology is reminding the university community that multi-factor authentication, or MFA, is available to faculty, staff and students.
